sure,well i made an image in Paint which i want to post on my website.So i saved it and i opened it in photoshop 5 to make it transparent, so theres a white box around the image ,i need to make the image transparent.i hope all this makes sense.
if ne one can help me u would really explain it in full detail cuz ive posted this in other forums and it seems quite mind boggling so i htought i would post this in here cuz the other ones were not for photoshop lol

This page should answer most any question you may have, plus it was written specifically using Photoshop 5.

double click your magic wand tool..... in the options pallet set it to like 15


click anywhere on the white area you would like to get rid of. You'll see a marquee appear (marching ants)

now do a ctr+shift+I

now you should see the marquee just around what you want to keep.

do a ctr+J

now in the layers pallet you'll have 2 layers

delete the one named "background"

File>save for web>

image type = .gif

make sure "transparent" is checked

save


thats about as cookbook as I can get at the moment...
if that doesn't help post back and we'll try again/.
