I'm on Photoshop 7 on a mac. I recently viewed the "Gel Text" tutorial on the site and I'm having some difficulty. In the 2nd step it says to "Cntrl+Click" the text and add a new layer. Then it says to "Select - Modify" that layer to contract. "Cntrl+Click" doesn't add a new layer on mac so is there another hotkey or stroke here? Also "Select Modify" isn't being allowed. Any suggestions? Thanks |

CTRL + Clicking isn't supposed to add a new layer, it just makes a selection of the outline of the layer you click on, and the key shortcut would be "Command (Apple Key) + Clicking", not CTRL. CTRL on the Mac and PC are different. The equivalent of Ctrl on the PC is always CMD on the Mac.

....as far as the Modify-Contract option not working.. in order for the Modify option to work, the layer or an existing 'object on the layer has to be selected (Ctrl+Click the layer in the Pallete) Once it's selected, then the option becomes usable. hoped that was the answer to your question. |
