Hello Team Photoshop! I've had a friend email a Mac Photoshop (psd) file, and I'm on a PC. I'm unable to open the file in the Photoshop, and I'm wondering is there anything I can do at this point to open the file? Or is there a special way for him to save the file on his Mac before sending it via email to my PC?? Thank you very much for any help! I've searched through the forums and seen similar posts, but I wasn't able to find an exact same question. THanks!! Reedly. |

First, make sure your buddy knows to save the file with a "*.psd" file extension in the filename. Second, if your friend is running OS X, ask him (her) to create an archive of the Photoshop document. Basically, that turns it into a ZIP-compressed file, which will protect it from corrruption during the emailing process. If your friend is running under classic Mac OS, (s)he'll need a 3rd-party utility that can compress the file as a ZIP. I recommend Stuffit. |
