I have a bunch of text layouts that someone did in Photoshop when they should have done them in Illustrator. I need to try and get them into flash without having to re do everything in flash.
Please say there is some way in saving the text into vector to import into flash.
Or else save them into illustrator format

Thanks

Yeah. File->Export->Paths to Illustrator.
That is, if your text layouts still have the paths. If not you might have to trace them or something...

I tried that but when I opened it up in Illustrator it was blank.

The type is just U55 normal font done with the text tool.

You have to fill the paths with a colour.

Copying and pasting your text may be the simplest way, then just re-format it if it changes.

File->Export->Paths to Illustrator won't work "as is" The paths must be on a layer as a vector mask. Paths that are just listed in the paths palette won't work in Ill. If you have a vector mask on a layer- just save your photoshop work as an .eps and check the "Include vector data" option.

but Spectra's right - if you have the text still editable it's much better to just reformat in ILL. If you try to generate paths in PS from text you'll notice they're not 100% accurate.

?? well - if you have your text rendered - the only way to make a path out of it is to select it - and make a path from the selection. But it's a lot like trying to xerox a xerox copy... the results are not exactly as the original text. Try it

on second thought - you could use the pen tool to make precise paths...but what's the use? you can do it in Ill....
