Color Change

Hello,

Could someone describe to me the process by which you would change the color of an object while preserving the gradients of that object? Attempting to do this on a picture of a machine but my efforts turn out "cartoony."

If you have Photoshop CS just use the Color Replacement Tool.

If you don't, select the area you'd like to change the color of, then press CTRL + U to change the hue/saturation to whatever you'd like it to be. You might have better results if you click the Colorize box as well.
