Anyone know how this is done.(Tenticles)?

Yes. The grid is quite easy. Just use the polygon tool to define a brus pattern. Then stroke it. The tentacle things were done with KPT 6 using gel and then pinching the ends. Draw a few tentacles, the merge 'em, duplicate, transform and mess with blending modes. I guess you could make the tentacles without KPT by drawing bezier curves, stroking it and using the pinch at the tip. Then creating an alpha channel, gaussian blur and render a lighting effect on the alpha channel. But that's alot of steps to do. And it's difficult to get the curves smooth...at least for me.

i just did this one completely in photoshop, without kpt. also posted it in the gallery forum or whatever. but i think they came out ok for no extra plugins.

Yeah, you don't need kPT to do it. I just liked the pretty colors. You used the pen tool? As always, there's SO many ways to do things in PS.

lol nah i suck at the pen tool. some triangles, distortion, polor coordinates. blah blah blah the usual.
