Can anyone answer this for me. (email response to Notqytryt@netzero.net)

Using photoshop 7 my actual photos are lighter than the images shown in photoshop. I have used the gamma correcti0n program and it doesnt help at all.

also when printing the photos have to be adjusted +15 to get the actual colors that are idisplayed in the photoshop display window... both my epson 1200 and the canon s9000 need this correction. I do not see anyway to adjust these setting to make them standard setting using photoshop... the +15 is an anoyance.. the "darkened" display is really a major problem.... anyone!!!! :(

Its all to do with your colour preferences and settings. Without wishing to blow you off, the answer has been addressed a thousand times before on this and other boards.

actually it hasn't (ive searched and the answers that may be what you think im asking AREN'T) I corrected the darkness issue switching from adobe RGB to Monitor RGB. (everywhere Ive read... calibrate with adobe gamma and use Adobe RGB.. Don't (at least on my system) work that way I have to use my monitor profile I made with adobe gamma in my color preferences. (the printer issue is quite another story.. I have used all availabel options in the "proofing" setup and (unless using the mac setting which is the closest.. at +15 added brightness before printing) the rest arent close.. the second closest smpte-c . Im only trying to get my photoshop screen to accurately show the output that will be seen on every other computer or every other viewer on the same system i created the image with.

Impossible. I remember hearing somewhere, something like 60% (I think it was higher though...) of all viewers of your graphics won't see the colors you intended.
