Hey guys! A little help here if you can. I'm trying to create a banner for work ("11 x "17) and whenever we print it, it comes out to be pixelated. I'm doing it in RGB mode and was wondering how to make it not look like pixelated. This is my first time doing it on an actual print out...thanks guys!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with keeping the file in the PSD format. Nothing. Set your resolution to a higher value. You've probably been used to working at 72 pixels per inch, and hadn't thought about what that means. When you create your new document at 11 X 17 inches, set the resolution to 200 240 or 300 p.p.i. This will create a MUCH larger file, and will slow down your Photoshop manipulation speed considerably, but it's really the only way to get a quality print from a raster-based image format. |

I set the image to 11 x 17 but how do I change the resolution? Sorry I can't find it. |

You need to START with your document set to a higher resolution....converting from 72 p.p.i. is NOT recommended. You'll see a "resolution" numerical entry field when you call up the "New Document" dialogue box. This is where you set the resolution for the image. Follow my guidelines above for a decent quality print. |
