question about a process

I found an image on a web site and i like the over all look and feel that it puts across. In designing my web page for my small business I'd like to do something similar for a header/ banner, but I have no idea how to adjust the image to look like this. Any suggestions, pointers or tutorials would be greatly appreciated

Image---»Adjust---»Hue/Saturation...

Check the "Colorize" box, and experiment with sliders.

Better yet, Use a Hue/Sat Adjustment Layer.

Read the HELP files that come with the CD—which are installed by default— and experiment.
