question about webpage pic's and layouts.. |

ok i got a question.. how do you make one picture into multiple clickable links.. like this http://digital-disguise.com/websitetut3.htm they have the menu, but like how do you make it so that when you click on one of those buttons it goes to that site. i believe it has something to do with slicing but i dont know how to use it. could anyone help? |

In either photoshop or image ready you can do something called slicing. You use a tool that looks like a knife, and basically cut up your one large image into smaller ones, and set hyperlinks to each image. Here is a basic tutorial: http://www.heathrowe.com/tuts/slices.asp After doing some slicing, you will soon discover, Adobe's slice coding engine, uhm, sucks. Some people like to just put the images into Dreamweaver and do it, but I tend to do it with notepad. It's all up to you. But if you need any further clarification, just ask. |

Or you do an image map for each of the links. That you would do in Dreamweaver or the likes.

ImageReady is a very nice tool to use. (See above comments.) You may want to change your file output settings (under the File tab somewhere) so that the HTML output is in CSS and lowercase tags. |
