Forgive me if I have posted in the wrong place. I seem to remember reading something that told how to resize many digital pics all at once. I want to lower the file size to email and post online, but it takes ao long to go over each photo. Is the answer some sort of "action"? Is there some task that can do all the pics in a folder at the same time? Jeff |

g'day Jeff, thnx for bringing this to my att. I to have tons of pics to resize for website also! Only initial testing but worked flawless for me: Make new action in action dialog box. Call this resize. Record action, and resize any pic to the size you want (i used percent resize, haven't tried specific size yet) Stop action when resize finished. Now goto File >> Automate >> Batch - this will open Batch dialog box. Now setup this, so under action drop-down menu, your resize action is selected (this depends on what SET you recorded action in) Under source choose folder all pics are located. Under destination choose folder where pics will go -for me I sent to same folder, but naming convention as follows: DocumentName + 1 Digit Serial Number + extension Then click OK, and if all is good it should breeze through the picture. Only stopping to OK file saves, but I think you can set to OK this process. Haven't tried yet. Try this on a test folder first, until you get hang of it ;) Hope this makes sense, and don't hesitate to ask more questions if it doesn't. |

I run a photo studio, and we do a lot of photo resizing, I suggest Dr. Brown's Image Processor. It is Java script and free to download. Click on the link above to go to Russel Brown's site. |

I use that feature of PS all the time and it's great. Whether I'm optimizing images for a gallery or just emailing pics to my family and friends, it's quick and easy. Takes a little practice to get used to it. :D

You gotta try the script suggested by CryptoManiac! I just used this to change 50 kodak Photo CD pictures into jpeg's with resize, and it didn't miss a heart beat. If you have ever tried to work with PhotoCD's on photoshop, you will know what a pain this can be. And the script even converted the pics from LAB to RGB. But dont forget the batch processing. SO many uses for this :-) |

Saves a little time, and lots of frustration :-) You would know what I mean CryptoManiac, with your work in photo studio. The place where I do P/T work cant handle anything above Jpeg. But as of now, we aren't wasting time to resave TIFF or KodakCD, one at a time, over and over and over..... |
