Yeah hi all Im a big n00b here but I have a legit question that sorting through hours of Adobes online crap couldnt help me with. I figured someone has to have an idea for this. visual/problem this link is a visual guide to what the hell Im battling with. In the first picture this is what Im currently getting, photos and psd's that are horribly shadowed and darkened. The second picture is how everyone else sees the pictures and myself included on windows viewer/ etc. Now I have a Samsung monitor. I guess thats a big problem with adobe (or so they tell me). Yet Ive been using this prog for almost 2 years (6 and now 7) without any problems when this cuffnut randomly happens. Now heres the kicker. I go to Image --> Mode --> and then assign profile. My settings are at sRGB-IEC61966-2.1 for my working RGB yet the picture reverts to the correct display when its underSamSung ICM profile. now I can fix every picture individually...but I have 40 gigs of pictures and well doing something like that would make me destroy my computer with a very blunt instrument... over and over...again. So the only thing I need to know is : Is there a way of possibly saving the SamSung ICM settings to the working background? or perhaps another solution?? Solutions tried. I have reinstalled Photoshop 7 I have asked Adobe online. (they tell me to use Adobe Gamma which did not come with my program, and of which I never needed it before) I have reset my monitor settings(I really shouldnt have to worry about that since Adobe is the only thing screwing up) Please help this poor lowly n00b. Try going to Edit>Color Settings, in there you can set your working space to the SamSung ICM. I have mine set to U.S. prepress defaults and I've never had a problem, I also turned off all the profile mismatch warnings. Good luck. |

And you DO have Adobe Gamma, look in your control panel. (You may need to be logged as admin)
