How would I animate text in photoshop to make it appear as if it was being written by an invisible hand?

Is this a time consuming process and is it relatively easy?

Thanks

It may be possible but it would be next to useless. The file sizes of animated gif's would be huuuuge and the animation even with tweens probably jerky.

I am sorry to say that Flash would be the way to go, sorry if you don't have the program, but you could download a demo for a month and try to complete it in that time.

i dunno..i've been working in imageready for a while..and it is possible to make the look you want...it really depends on the the length of the word you are making...

i suggest taking the text in photoshop and breaking down the text bit by bit..it would take a while and would be time comsuming but if u don't have other programs...then take the time and do it...one thing i've learn is that if u keep studying your art...sometimes you will find a way to create your vision...

once you've decided on what text you want take it over to imageready and using your pen tool trace a path over the text...then take you brush and pick each and every part of the paath...each click being on a different layer...it may take ALOT of LAYERS but it can be done...once complete hit the play button and see if that works...

like i said it is very time consuming but it can be done...

It was not that it's impossible rather it was impractical.

I also agree, Flash would be the way to go.

And please get rid of that sig. The file size of it is bigger than a good quality (960x1280) picture that I have. Go easy on 56kers ;)
