How can round the coners of the square.

1 Create your own square with rounded rectangel tool (shift-U)..

or

2 Create a new layer ...select tool (rectangular marquee) and press Shift and hold it down while ...you mark an area on the layer ...Select-Modify-Smooth ( 16 pix? ) ..not enough? do it again ...when your happy with it ..EDIT_FILL_OK..you should end up with rounded corner square

or..

3...custom shapes---objects (set defined proportions) (not sure if its a default shape in PS-CS...you will find rounded square there

or...
4 I would go with nr1 gives you better control or you could do nr 2 and make a work path of the selection.

I guess there are more ways but no i can think of right now ;) Hope this will help you in your search for the perfect square ;)

or 5...

use a selection with a gaussian blur and a levels adjustment ;)
