Rough edges

Hey,

I'm trying to generate a rough looking edge to some parts of a photo, like on the banner at http://www.epitaph.com/

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well for that style, you could try some really subtle grunge brushes...maybe not. I think the way to go is to just use the pen tool (or polygonal lasso) and draw random shapes that you want to cut out. That kind of effect blends really well with vector graphics, as seen in the Epitaph banner.
