hey there, new to the forum.
got a question about previewing psd's in windows explorer. i recently upgraded to photoshop cs from 7. immediately i realized that when you look for a psd with windows explorer it no longer shows you a preview of the file, or what it looks like. is there any way around this, or is there a setting i can change to enable this? i know that you can use the file browser in cs, but i find it to be a lot slower and more tedious to find a psd that way. this can be really annoying when you are trying to find a file among a hundred or so psd's in a folder. please help..... thanks

This isn't as easy at it should be :(
Adobe came up with this idea that they don't want to show the thumb nails on internet explorer anymore...they want people to use their browser system...damn stupid :P

Well this gets fixed when you download this patch ->
http://home.earthlink.net/~freeware-soft/ps.cs.t.patch.zip

Just follow the instructions and it will work again :P

I use ThumbsPlus for viewing/organizing/etc. all my image files (including native PSD). It's a great utility. I understand if you don't want another utility program cluttering up your system, but if you're open to the idea, I highly recommend ThumbsPlus. I couldn't live without it. It views EVERY image format you could think of. Keeps a database of all your thumbnails, even libraries of images you may keep offline. Lets you do useful searches like find images that look similar to a particular image, etc. Plus it does a great job of converting uncompressed images to JPG format (much better than Photoshop does).

Only thing that gets used more than ThumbsPlus on my system is Photoshop itself.
