I want to select only one word of a group of characters. The problem that I'm having is, when I go to click one of the letters it selects all the characters in that word. How would I only select one character at a time? -Thanks for the help, Rich |

You don't use the magic wand to select characters, but the type tool. Single click insert the cursor Double click selects word Triple click selects the whole sentence... It would be a good idea to check your user guide about the tools and their uses... |

The problem I'm coming across is when I try to select the first letter in the word Mind it selects the full word Mind not just the M.... -peace |

Well, select the whole word, then go to the rectangular marquee tool. Hold down ALT and drag over the letters you don't want. This will subtract them from the selection.
