I have a circular image that I made in Photoshop and I wanted to put a capital letter on top of it lying in the center of the circle below. However, when I ctrl+click the circle and then select the letter layer and center it, it's always a little below and to the right of where the absolute center should be. Why is it that Photoshop doesn't seem to want to center a single letter perfectly?? And is there any way that I can get it to do so?? I'm getting a little frustrated by trying to 'eyeball' it to get it right. |

This may or may not help you. I don't know if this is the situation you're running into, but if it is then hopefully it'll shed some light on it for you. See image: http://0ut.home.comcast.net/centeralignsingleletter.png |

I was actually using capital letters to begin with so that wasn't the issue. I'm not sure that there is a good way to do this. I actually found out that if I used a font that was 1px smaller it would center it perfectly.....I don't really know why. thanks for the help. |

That's just the math. If you have a circle 99 pixels wide and text covering up 33 pixels - you'll have 33 pixels of space on each side. But if your circle is 100 pixels - there will be 33 pixels of space on one side and 32 on the other.
