now to my problem, i have windows xp using ps7. i have installed some chinese (big5) fonts onto my system. when i open ps i can use some of the fonts only. but the fonts work with other programs like fireworks, word, and flash. i have made sure the support for asian charaters is checked in ps7. can anyone help...please?

hey duckie ( now that sounds cute ) welcome aboard..

not sure of the exact cause of your particular problem, or even if its a specific font issue, but one thing you may want to check out is in your Preferences: go to 'Edit/Preferences/' and in the general tab, tick the 'Show Asian Text Options'. (Photoshop may require a restart.

See if that helps in any way.

cheers

I have the same problem with some standard fonts (meaning non asian). I have Japanese fonts that work fine but some of my fonts that are available to word are not available to PS. I can't get around it either.

If the Chinese fonts are the ones that ship with Windows they should work, but there can be no guarantee.
