Hey guys, I'm not new to PS, but I'm having problems regardless. First off: I use WinXP and a supremo Video card, so I cant figure out why it is that when I preview an image in file browser (doesn't matter the file format) it appears much darker than when It actually is viewed outside Photoshop. Matter of fact, aside from actually editing the graphic in the Photoshop workspace, the saved image is much brighter when it's actually viewed externally. It's annoying, ESPECIALLY, when trying to make something a dark navy color and it comes out like a sky blue :| Okay here's an example Say I have a picture with a DARK green background being worked on in PS, as soon as I go to save for web (or any other way of saving) The SAVED graphic is much brighter, like a light green when externlly opened. It's a niusance, because I can't judge color and brightness according to OTHER peoples monitors, please tell me how to restore the defaults in PS to perhaps... uh.. normal..HELP? |

Turn off colour management in the preferences and uncheck any colour space profiles that you have assigned. You only really need worry about colour management when you are trying to profile for print.

But don't cry if your prints does not match what you have on screen afterwards... I'd rather say try to follow the guidelines given out at http://computer-darkroom.com/home.htm, in the features articles for your version of Photoshop. (but I know that some web designers turn off color management...) |
