how do people get such big, detailed pics to load so quickly? ex: http://www.earthnbeyond.com/maniac/american5 it's pretty big (not my site, nice artwerk tho) and loads pretty fast. same goes for other large pics i have no links to |

file > Save for web (in ps 5.5 and 6) Just play around with the settings. for large complex images save it as a jpg. I always see better quality with smaller file sizes compared to gifs. Snore edit: I went and looked at the image, it appears to be sliced already, so when you right click to get the file size, you are only getting a small portion. of the whole image. |

yeah, it's all sliced so it loads faster, but there's a 500 x 200 section that's 29k. Try using just a little compression when you export to JPG, like 5 to 10%, and you should get a much lower file size with little difference in quality. Also most of the time Progressive compression gives the smallest file size.

slice the pic and use "save for web/setting"can change the pic to small
