I'm having trouble trying to set the icons on the layer menu to be square instead of rectangle. I tried the preferences but no luck. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I want it to look like this not like this Thanks, |

I don't have Photoshop open at the moment, but it sounds like you just want increase the thumbnail preview size. Look for the little black arrow facing right at the top right corner of the layers palette, click on that and I think it should have thumbnail size options. It could be even simpler, like just right clicking nr thumbnail and choosing from a context sensitive menu. |

the little thumbnails in the layers pallete mimic the proportions of your canvas. If your canvas is square the thumbs will look square too. Try openinh two psd's - one rectangular, non square and one square - and look at the layers in the layers pallette - you'll see
