how do you shape an image with custom shapes? |

I want to shape a banner i did into a curved rectangle, how would i do that without the edges of the image showing? I've tried it before but i had to erase the image part that overlapped the custom shape. i need help!

One method is to apply a Clipping Mask: a. Draw your Shape (to create a Shape Layer) b. create a new Layer directly above the Shape Layer, and copy/ or drag your image onto this Layer. c. With this Layer still selected (the one with the image), hit Ctrl + G (Mac:Command + G) to create a clipping group whereby the the target layer (the image) is masked by its base layer (the shape). hope that helps other methods include Selections with Layer Mask, Paths and Vector Masks or a simple Selection combined with the 'Edit/Paste Into' command, just to name a few. cheers heathrowe |
