In truth it looks like they have actually scanned selotape, but the tutorial provided is nearly as good if you don't have the means to make your own scans.

Yeah, that tape in the picture looks real.

Actually, I'm not so sure...it doesn't look that real...I might try creating a tape like that to see.

Everythings possible in Photoshop friend Given a few days (weeks - what do I know) I am sure that we can replicate this effect into a reusable action or if needed a one off effect.

I am still more than positive that it was a scan of real tape though.
