Hi Please help me!! This is my first time using Photoshop 7 and I am trying to teach myself how to use it although proving quite difficult I would appreciate if anyone could tell me how to get rid of an unwanted area I am trying to trace around a floor plan of a house and do not want anything else but the plan. Thanks |

Hey there Kiara and welcome to the forum. I'll give it a go to explain this. There a couple of ways how you can do this. Easiest way: You see in your tool bar that there is a lasso tool. Click on the icon and a box will pop up and there should be a tool called polygonal lasso. With it "draw"around your image. Right click and choose select invers. now press del. This is maybe the easiest way to accomplish it. But the final result wont be that great. If you really want to get it good looking you should choose the Pen tool from your tool bar. If you have never used it before it might be really hard to understand it. Everyone is having a problem with it at first...but you should just try to use it for about 10 minutes and you will start to understand how it works. There are 2 different ways of using this tool...you can color your selection or make it transparent...If you are trying to cut something out it might be easier to work as transparent so change the . After you have down the outlineing out the image right click and choose "Make Selection" it will ask for feather...you should choose "0". Now change the tool to Rectangular tool and right click with it on the image and choose Select inverse. This isn't actually as hard as it looks but I just explained it in details so it looks really hard. |
