Hey I have a question...

I have an image which is currently set at 72 DPI (aka resolution). Anyways, if I were to raise the DPI to 600, should it blur? If it does, is there a way around this? Would my only option be to re-make the image? Thanks in advance.

You will need to remake the image unless you don't mind it being under 1 square inch in size. To keep the quality, it will have to be sampled down over 8 times the original size (so if it was 8" x 8" at 72dpi, it would be 1" x 1" at 600dpi).

If you increase dpi it looks blurry because your actually stretching the pixels

Gah...

Well this guy I'm working with, wants this image I made for him to be raised up 600 dpi. Of course I know I have to re-make it, but does this mean I'll have to re-make everything in a larger resolution? Or do I make everything the same size, but just on a 600 DPI file?

I'm still confused. I'm trying to re-create the image (575w x 160h), and when I put in the text, they're huge!!! I never worked with DPI, help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I figured out an idea to make this easier for you guys to help me out. Just make a short list of "what to do" in an order. For example...

Step 1 -

Step 2 -

Step 3 -

etc etc etc

...I don't know if I need to do something before raising the Resolution or what. All I know is, is to re-make the image, somehow get it in a 600 Resolution. The current image size is 570 width and 160 height (pixels). I don't know if I need to change the pixel dimension or what.

Hopefully this'll make it easier for you all.

Step 1: GO TO FILE NEW
Step 2: TYPE IN YOUR SIZE 570 BY 160
Step 3: UNDER THE SIZE TYPE IN 600 IN THE RESOLUTION BOX

hope this helps...
