i'm trying to figure out how many colors it is you're trying to get. if you're using more than 3 or main colors in a layout (at MOST)...umm, yeah.

Random is on the right track, i believe...

Also you can do this without resorting to the Save for Web Palette'.

a.) Convert image to Index: 'Image/Mode/Indexed Color'.
b.) go back to the 'Image/Mode' menu command option, and down towards the end ofthe list choose 'Color Table'.
c.) from there choose the whole color table to save or to delete certain colors hold down the Ctrl key (Mac:Command key) and the eyedropper reverts to a scissors icon.
Save the Color Table as a .ACT file it should prompt you to save it into your Swatches Folder, but anywhere on your harddrive is fine.
d.) Open the Swatches Palette (Window/Swatches) and up on the top right of the Swatches Palette choose the Palette Arrow Menu button and from the contextual list choose 'Load Swatches'. Then switch the 'Files of Type' to 'Color Table *.ACT' and choose the file you just previously saved, wallah.

hope that helps ya

cheers
