Hi! New to the forums, if this has been addressed elsewhere I apologize.

I'm looking to create a simple banner with just a background color and text on top. What's the best format to save in if I want to use it in email attachments? I've tried both .gif and .jpg but the text looks blurry when I view it in the email (however it looks crisp on screen in photoshop) Tips? Tricks? ideas?

Thanks!

If it's mostly just a solid color, GIF will be the best format. JPEG is best for photographs and things with a lot of different colors. If it looks bad after you export it from photoshop check your settings and make sure you aren't saving it at a low quality. The GIF shouldn't be blurry, but the JPEG will get very blurry if you have the quality set pretty low.

If the email program is resizing your image after you saved it, the image can look blurry. Check what size the feild is that the e-mail program is letting you fill, then check that your image is sized to the same dimentions at 72 dpi (ppi, whatever).

If the area is small, try setting the Anti-Aliasing on your text to something different like "crisp" or "strong".
