How to get rid of this PS option

I don't know what I did to get this thing but I know it hasn't always been there. I swear ctrl-H used to remove it but now it doesn't. Can anyone tell me what I can use it for, or even better, how to get rid of the damn thing? Thanks...

Explore the View Menu...paying particularly close attention to the "Show Extras options..."

I was all set to reply saying 'nah...I already did that', but I finally noticed the 'show' tab and it had been set to 'all', not 'none'. On 'all', even if you have all the extras unchecked, that junk is still in the corner and cant be removed with ctrl-H. What a pain...thanks for the tip

thats the "show slices" option. So just due away with that.
