can't save in gif format (image ready)

i cant save an animated gif in image ready. when i try to save as...it will only let me save as a psd file, and when i try to save optimized...it will only let me save as a jpg. can anyone help me, please?

That is because you have JPEG selected in your Optimize Box. Look above your Color/Swatches/Styles. There is a box, and if you click on optimize, you will see the word JPEG (then High, Low, or Medium). In this, select whatever GIF you want, and then try to save optimized.

Edit: And if you can't find the box I was talking about, go to Window->Show Optimize
