Broken line tool

This might sound stupid but I've managed to break my line tool or something, when i want to use it, it draws a weird arrow and i can't change it. Thanks

Are you sure you are using the line tool? You might have the shape tool selected and are drawing an arrow. Right click on what you think is the line tool in your toolbox. Make sure you select "Line Tool".

Nope, it's definatly the line tool. I was using it then I ran out of mouse mat so I moved the mouse to the top of the mat but at the same time the ball moved an i accidently clicked something but im not sure what it was

On the Options bar on top, next to all the buttons for rounded rectangle, custom shape, etc. click the black down arrow and just uncheck the start and end boxes.
