Hey guys does anyone know how i can get a Calendar look in photoshop. Let me explain, Im putting a Calendar for the rest of 2004 for a girl (client) I know. I'm, having a problem doing the "day boxes" at the bottom. The top half will be a picture and on the bottom i will have the days with the dates, but how do i do the box effect i have done it with selections and then stroking but it looks really bad. Have anyone here done this. Im trying to do the templeate first, so then later i can just change the main picture, month, ect. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanxs |

I've never done it before, and I'm sure there are easier ways, but I would use guides to map out all the places where a black line would go and then use the shape tool to make the boxes using the guides. Link them together so you can resize them all at will. I'm not really sure, but I think using shapes/paths is definately the way to go.

Typically this kind of stuff is done with Illustrator/Pagemaker. You can still get good results in Photoshop though.

Hey Dream, I think random has the right idea, Quark or Pagemaker is the way to go. You can create your graphics in PS then just switch them as needed. My thinking is that the layout programs will give you more control over your type as you can use style sheets to format it, and change it all at once. I mean PS will definitely do the job, but this is what these layout programs are designed to do. If you use Quark, the step and repeat function will make this job a snap!. Good luck Jason |
