Hello friends,

This is my first post here, i´m pleased to be a part of a knowledgeable and professional community like this.
Here goes my problem:
I´m trying to make the following aged effect on ps:

I will be glad if someone help me reproducing his nice aged effect (it looks like a very aged paper with corroded edges). Well, it´s time to leave.

Thank you so much guys.

I think it looks pretty good...
Only thing I can think of is making it more brownish...Something that's old is never white.

ermm.. no 3jorn, I think he is after a 'how to' not a critique ofhis work.

The aged effect that you have there looks like it ws done with brushes, if you are in need of those type of brushes then you could do worse than check these forums for resources.

Oh and the Zeppelin has an outer glow added to it.

And also, in case you didn't know, you have to have Photoshop 7 or CS to use a custom brush (thehermit's suggestion)

err, negative, you can load brush sets in lots of different versions of photoshop. some sets may be made specifically for later versions of photoshop but that doesn't mean you can only use custom brushes at all in those versions.

Yes, you're right. I have Photoshop 6, so I'm not the expert on custom brushes, but brushes made in Photoshop 7 or CS can't be loaded in 6, can they?

Yea its a brush trick. Theres lots of sites to get brushes, especially grunge brushes.

OR you can make your own if youve got some patience and time. You could crumple up a piece of paper a little, then photo it or scan it and turn it into a brush. The one and only tutorial ive ever done is exactly for this purpose, of making brushes in PS, and you can read it here: http://www.attunedesigns.com/brushtut/

peace outtside

I personally like scanning a crumpled piece of paper and using blend modes and masks to do this effect.

Good luck.

You couls also take a random photo and blow it out with threashold (did I spell that right) anyway, then use a lightening blend mode to do a similar grunge effect.
