Just a printing question. I have been assigned to make a DVD cover, and I am just wondering what would be the best printing options. I'm wondering what kind of paper would be best, any sizes, files, resolution, the works... Haven't really done this so I'm just a little confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You're doing the sticker on the actual DVD or the paper insert that goes on the case? - a one off print (a couple copies) or a printer run (several thousand). That might get us somewhere, first. Oh, and welcome to the forum. I like me some Mountain Dew. graphicsguy |

It would also help if we knew what type of printer you are using, but in lew of that information, I will give you some information I think should be usefull (I hope). Most DVD insterts are printed on an Offset CMYK printing press with Magazine quality paper. Most companies that do CMYK printing have their own special desires when asking for printing settings (they may ask for color separations etc.) Your best bet may be to design the insert and then send it off to be printed, I suggest PsPrint their prices aren't too bad and you should be able to get all the setting infromation from their web site. Good luck. |
