Hello, I am trying to create a picture that is an 8 x 10 so I can print it for a frame. When I create the new document I choose 8x10 new RGB image (not sure what resolution I should use, I picked 200) The problem is that when I resize another image that I am dragging into my new document it blows up way to big even though I changed it to 8x10. I tried lowering the resolution to 70 but it still does not fit a 8x10 picture format. I guess I just need some advice on how to create a picture for print. P.S. - I am using the sketch tutorial to make my picture look like a drawing, I just want it to print on a full size paper. Thanks |

If you bring in an image and it is larger than you need, cntrl-t to get the resizer, then hold shift while resizing to keep the proportions. Lowering the resolution is not what you want to do, unless the image is larger than needed. 300ppi or so would be good for print. 150ppi is acceptable - but it really depends on what you are printing to. |

The image I want to bring in is smaller, so I resize it before I drag it in, this is where it gets way to big.

The easiest way to resize a pic is to use the crop tool. In the options bar for the crop tool you can type 8 in x 10 in and input a resolution I sujjest 240 dpi and then just crop the image, it will resize on it's own. Note: it is best to resize down, if your original is too small the print will look like crap. |
