Does anyone know how the background to the banner image on this site was created? http://teamusa.sclegacy.com Like all the metal looking stuff in the background. |

It's a pretty popular effect. I call it "trendwhore" - it's been kicked around these forums quite a bit. try searching for trendwhore on google, and in here. You can do it in photoshop, although, the best stuff I've seen used objects placed from 3DStudioMax or Bryce. |

I presume that you mean the blue header at the top of the page (hope so). At first I wondered if it had been a 3D render of a primitive object with noise applied and a material assigned, but I don't think it is. I could spend an age explaining some of the techniques involved but many others have done it better and in more detail before me. I suppose you could do worse than research "trendwhore" in Google. umm (looks through bookmarks) try this one: www.voidix.com |

It looks to me like some stock images from Digital Juice, mixed together with a grid pattern overlay. Look up digital juice of you can make these effects pretty easily in 3D Studio Max. CryptoManiac |
