Stained/Aged Effect On Image

Hi,

I am trying to re-create the texture/style of the background of this image:

I'm not looking for a step-by-step tutorial or anything, but some pointers in the right direction would be really helpful. I would really like to get some aged/stained backgrounds on some of my pics.

Images of concrete and rust and other weathered textures, with blend modes like multiply, dodge and soft light.

yeah, using photo-based textures is definitely the easiest way to go with something like this.

I agree about photos. Though a cheap trick.......use noise and scale the layer about 3x.
