im trying to print shiny silver for a flyer

could somebody please give me a tuitorial on how to do a silver kind of chrome in photoshop and then when it prints out how to make it come out shiny and not a dull gray

this might help on your first request.

as for your second request; if you're wanting to get a silver print out of an ordinary printer then it's not gonna happen. you'll have to take your file to a print shop and have them make a print plate that will press special silver ink on the prints. this will be pricy. or you can find some silver paper and try printing on it. probably won't work too well.

i know you can get gold and silver leafing kits at art stores, pretty cheap. never tried it though.

I will see if I can find the name of the company that deals with this kind of printing, its slipped my mind now (goes to hunt through Computer Arts)

most good commercial printers will be able to do some sort of spot color with a metallic ink, just call around and ask. it'll cost more but shouldn't be too too pricy. if you're looking to do that from a home-type printer then you're prob out of luck.

We've had a "foil" finish on text for some business cards and looked pretty cool, but as said above it wasn't cheap. It was black background with white text and we told them to "silver foil" the white text and that was it.
