Hi, I have made a poster for a friend, but when printed the writing always comes out a little fuzzy, how do I get around this? I don't think it is a problem with the printer as it is really good, also the image I created was a high resolution. Does anyone else do poster design? How do you manage to get the writing ultra crisp and clear like pro posters? Any help would be apriciated. Thanks. |

what paper are you using? plain paper will make the ink bleed. you need photo quality paper.

Verify that you are using vector based type (that you haven't rasterized it). Also set your print options to spool RAW data. Supposedly this will take the image and render it to your printer's highest print resolution. Photo paper is also a good bet. But most professional posters are printed on a CMYK offset printer which uses an entirely different process, hard to match the quality. Good luck. CryptoManiac |

Thanks for all your advice guys! Much appreciated! I'm affraid I haven't had chance to try out your suggestions, I have been really busy lately, but will let you know how it goes. I am a Photoshop novice, I have only recently started to get to grips with it, previously I have been using Paint Shop Pro which I thought was pretty good, but it does have it's limits. By the way, does anyone have/used Photoshop Elements? I have always wondered what it has missing? |

for any aspiring "pro" designers take note: get your idea -> bg/photo manipulation in photoshop -> add text and any linework in illustrator difference in output quality can be astonishing, especially for small type sizes. chris |

Remember that if you don't use a postscript printer in Photoshop, the vectors will be printed at the resolution of your file, not the max resolution of your printer! (it makes sometimes an huge difference)
