Hi, I'm a bit confused about the "Texture folder" in the "Presets" of Photoshop CS. What are these textures user for & how do I access them in Photoshop aside for navigating to the "Textures folder" buried in my C dirve. I assume they are associated with the Texture filter, but I have some new "Amazing Sci-Fi" textures I want to play with, if I put them in this folder, how do I access them when I need them? For lets say just a fill/clipping layer etc. Regards Fess |

Okay, I've found my own solution but it has lead to another question. In the "Texturizer" filter, I'm able to click on the arrow on the right and load textures. But it seems only .psd textures are able to load. I have some textures that are .jpg and even .tga How can I load them, in the "Texturizer" filter? Regards Fess |

hello, fess! The texture>texturizer folder is used to simulate a canvas or paper texture to your background, not to apply a colored texture ( http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/tools/texturizer/textrzr.php ). The textures you bought can be used with the paint bucket (fill) tool ( http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/tools/imagepattern/impattern.php ), the clone stamp set to pattern ( http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/tools/pattern/pattern.php ) or even the pattern layer style... Some of them still could be used with distort>displace ( http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/tools/displace/displace.php ), texture>texturizer or render>lighting filter( http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/tools/textfill/textfill.php ) (the elevation/bump map ones, usually, they are black and white) to give a 3d effect to your images. |

sPECtre, Great advice, I understand about the texturizer filter now. So, I'll just have to specify my Texture as .pat if I want to use it as a pattern. Thanks Fess |
