There isn't a "layout" tutorial if that's what you're asking. You just need to learn the basics of Photoshop or any other graphic application to learn a few techniques, then use your own creativity to make a web site layout. Look at other sites to get an idea of what looks good and what doesn't if you're just starting out... But other than that it's up to you, really.

hp xQuisite, You might find some help here at this site: http://www.planetphotoshop.com/tutorials_web.html Scroll down to "Web Pages with Photoshop" and you'll find some tuts on how to prepare your layout for exporting. If you're looking on how to design the actual layout, then you'll have to go with Deker's advice on practicing your style and learning the tools in photoshop. Cheers! |

Start with a new file that is 800x600 pixels and then position the layout in a general manner with colored squares and then once the structure is down, gradually add more and more detail and pictures and such. There are plenty of good tutorials out there. You can download some layouts free here: http://www.b-man.dk/layouts.asp Look at this PSD and then see how he did it and apply those methods to yours. For effects and such, www.good-tutorials.com is a great place to start looking. They have tutorials for just about every effect. Just keep making layouts and looking at layouts you like until you produce something that is nice. Don't get frustrated, no one started making totally orignal websites, but don't rip other people's layouts. www.colorwhore.com is a great place to get color ideas. This is a great article you should read: http://www.sitepoint.com/article/1150 And www.sitepoint.com in general is a great resource and they have great forums. Hang around here and keep posting your completed layouts for criticism. It may be harsh, but you will find the criticism helpful. And if you need any more help feel free to email me. |
