Ok well I don't know really where to post this, I kinda have two questions in one. First Im designing a website with photoshop CS and I have created everything I wanted, then I brought it all into Image Ready, and did the slicing thing... This is where I am now, what do I do next to get it so I can put it all together in dreamweaver? thx |

Just open it in Dreamweaver and then alter the HTML so that you can add text and graphics and stuff. You'll probably need to learn HTML first, though - Photoshop is not a web authoring tool. Oh and ImageReady writes really crappy code, so if youre seriously wanting to get into web design, please get an editor and learn css and html and incorporate your Photoshop graphics into it. Thats what most of us do I believe. |

i wouldnt say that imageready writes "crappy code", but you will probably want to get a freeware tool like cutehtml (i believe thats the name) and it will take out all the unnecessary coding. (be sure to tell it to leave your meta tags!) in dreamweaver, you should be able to add your tags and various header info. remember that slicing is a precise art. and to leave areas where you intend to put text blank. its worth it to learn some css, or "borrow" some css style sheets and just add a tag in your header that makes all pages conform to your css specifications. each page will be smaller and use the css sheet that you created to do their font type, size and coloring etc. anyway, you have two good tools. photoshop/imageready and dreamweaver can do it all. just be patient. it takes time to gather up the skill level. |
