Using Templates in Photosho

I am using a web template for a small website. The template is in psd format. I want to use the same page and just change pictures and text on it for the different web pages. In the psd format, I renamed all the layers for each different picture on each page and they look great, but when I save it as an html page it changes all the pictures and text to the last page that I save! What am I doing wrong?
I am using Photoshop 6

Keep the background for each page of your webpage. But use html to lay the type and pics over top of the background for each page or else you will just have a web page with page after page of full size images and it would be very slow to load.
