How could you have the program installed and not have the registration code from Adobe? If you have Windows XP, use a System Restore Point. You will get your program back. Or better yet, use the installation disks. |

I think he means the activation code. But for how many times it's been pointed out that Utopian has a thread in the resources section called "Photoshop Wonky" - have you tried reading that? Seems to solve a lot of these issues. I don't think it has anything to do with activation or registration, if so he'd get a prompt to enter the info, not a crash. |

I have the same problem... Not sure it's caused by the same thing or anything. But for me it doesn't actually go away... It goes away from my desktop tool bar but when I press Alt + Tab it's still there and I open it up again. ...and it's running all the time so nothing is lost... But I have the same problem with illustrator 9. It goes away when I press Ctrl + Z...like every 30 th time I press it or something and then it really shuts down...and it's SO annoying becuase I never remember to save. Mihai did tell me that it's because I have first installed photoshop and then illustrator... So I should uninstall photoshop and illustrator and then install illustrator first and then photoshop...some kind of bug maybe... But I haven't had time to test this yet but i've hear that it should work so I should try it... |

I had a problem like that, except Photoshop would just hang at some point when it was loading, and it turned out to be some missing libraries that PS needs to start, (even if it actually doesn't use them). Face it, computers are stupid ! ! But it went away when I reinstalled (PS 5.5). Somehow these libraries in their folders had been deleted. Sorry I can't recall what they were, but if you're familiar with that section in your "programs" files, you might have a look, to see if anything is missing or misplaced. If something has become corrupted, with a critical bit missing due to a glitch somewhere, maybe if you defrag first before you reinstall you would have better results. Maybe if you just try defragging this will clear up the problem, because some critical little piece of your application has been lost in another sector, and not where it should have been. |
