Hey Gang, Here's a quick one. I use the Marquis tool. Draw a circle. Right click and apply stroke. No problems so far. But what if I want to apply a feather to the stroke? Thanks! |

If you do the stroke that way, the stroke will be bitmap, so you cant really feather it I dont think. You could try feathering the selection before you add the stroke - might work. Or just blur it afterwards. Or you could make a shape will fill opacity 0% and then add an outer glow with the layer styles - then its always editable. But Im not completely sure what youre asking - if this isnt helpful then you might want to elaborate in your description. :D

Hey thanks.. Nope - I think that will answer it fine. I'm kinda migrating from working only in Fireworks to now using Photoshop. As a result, I'm kinda having to look at a thing and think in slightly different terms. But I think that clears it up. Sure wish I could take both of these proggies and "jam" them together. lol But man - I'm now finally understanding, I think, why PS has such a huge following. I'm lovin this thing! Finally starting to get past that excruciating intro-learning curve anyone gets when first starting out on a really good (complex?) piece of software too. Not that I can really "use it well" now. Just that intro learning curve. Whew! HAs this thing ever got buttons.. lol :D So - again thanks. These little tips really help a lot. Cheers! |
