I've been using Photoshop for some months months now, but there is one problem I am deeply in need for a solution...
I have talked to many PS users, and asked them about if you had 2 pics next to each other and blending them into each other. Some say to user layer masks and a brush, others say they use erasers and fading. I know this may sound amateur to many, but it is a issue that I need to deal with. Thanks for the help in advance.
Thats some bad advice. Though there is nothing wrong with the eraser, and many ppl including myself use it for a quick solution.....it doesnt leave many options. Layer masks and a brush (or gradient tool...etc) is the way you want to go. Not only does the layer mask do the same as the eraser, but it doesnt alter your picture (like erasing it) so u can fix any problems or tweak as much as you want. When in doubt...use a mask!
I'd agree with rodder. It won't make much of a difference early on, but it's a real good habbit to get use to doing early. Plus, you get to learn all the cool features about layer masks
