I can't get greys to work right, they always appear reddish. ex. I'm most used to hexidecimal code, so normally I would use 757575 for like a mid-grey... but when I use this in Photoshop it looks red, and gradients do the same thing. I made a black to white gradient and the center is pinkish-red. It's driving me crazy, anyone know how I can fix it? |

Are you sure you're in RGB mode? Image > Mode > RGB |

Photoshop is a color-managed application...meaning it works in its own color space, and can exchange mathematically specific information about color with other color-managed applications as well as to and from color managed hardware. What you need to do is recalibrate your monitor with the Adobe Gamma Control Panel. Go read this stuff at the Adobe Photoshop Forum; http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?13@251.fkCSblhbRYM.279286@.ef44dc8/1 http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?13@251.fkCSblhbRYM.279286@.ee7be47/2 http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?50@251.fkCSblhbRYM.279286@.1de6184f http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?50@251.fkCSblhbRYM.279336@.eea0088 Hit Ian Lyons' Computer Darkroom site and poke around: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/home.htm And just for good measure, bookmark the following link: http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/6712.htm |

Or read all that. :p I have no idea really. I created a black/white gradient in RGB and one in CMYK and the CMYK gave me a reddish hue in the middle. :p |

How do ya'll think I learned this stuff? Asking to be spoon-fed simple answers? I think I've invested more money into the contents of my bookshelves than in my hardware. ::Goes back to reading 760 page "Missing Manual" for OS X 10.3.x:: |

Well I put it in RGB and fooled around with the monitor settings some and finally got it to where it's at least looking grey instead of pink, thanks everyone.
