Hi- With Photoshop 6.01, I find the "Layer Style Dialog Box" is too large and covers up most of the area of my working window, ie my image. I have a 17inch monitor. Is there not a value I can put into an "ini" file possibley to change the size of this box? I find this too frustrating to even continue using this program. I cannot believe this dialog box's size is not changeable, and that Adobe would allow an interactive dialog box cover the work that it's interacting with, ie., the box's preview option. Effecting changes with layer styles choices cannot be seen affecting my image since my image is covered up by this box. Thanks Greg |

Well if you find it that frustrating stop using the program then. Just move the box over to the side to see your work. It's not that big of a deal and you're going to run into problems trying to recode the window size.

thats a rather silly request/complaint... considering the fact that most of the Dialog Boxes are whats called modal windows, meaning you can't edit anything else until OK/CANCEL command is pressed within the window. besides that, im still on 14 inch monitor, but i use a screen resolution of 1024x768 and theres still plenty of room on the screen for preview... perhaps thats what u need to do.. increase your screen res if your graphics card supports it... hope that helps heathrowe |
What are you doing at 800x600!?!
I'm always open to suggestions, tips etc But I always use 800x600 for the net and offline ...unless 1024x768 is what I should be using there also.??? In any case, it's a matter of getting used to it. Not to mention i could use a new pair of glasses. thanks for the confirmation regarding 1024x768 |

I prefer the highest resolution I can get, while I can still see the screen well - that way I have more space to work with. I don't wear glasses, so I'm fine

Memorize all your shortcut keys - then if you hit 'tab' it hides all the boxes and 'tab' again to bring them back. If you use a lot of shortcut keys you'll find that you don't need to have your modal boxes in your way all the time. More efficient as well, imo.
