Hey guys I have some problems that I cannot figure out. I heard that after you splice your photoshop document you can hit save for web and it will put all the images in a folder, but when i do that and upload it, the images will not work! Why is that?

Read the manual. I think you mean slice instead of splice, but Im not sure what you mean by 'upload'. So read the manual, and then be a little more descriptive in asking your question. tom |

you have to upload the folder along with the html document that uses the images...And you have to keep the relationship between the html and the folder the same on the server as on your hard drive.

Check that you have the images in the right folder. It usually puts them in to an "image" folder so you need to have that on the server too... And sometimes I have noticed that it makes the images names as .JPG instead of .jpg so they might not find them. |

also in the final 'Save For the Web' dialog box, in the 'Save As Type' option make sure you have choosen 'Html and Images (*html)' with 'Default Settings'. This will generate a Html page based on your slices and Photoshop will automatically put the sliced images in a folder called 'images' on the root of the location you saved the html file to. Another thing you should do also, before ever uploading to your server, is test the page locally (ie on your machine) either by: 1. Double clicking on the saved html file you previously saved. 2. In the Save for the Web dialog box, at the very bottom of that window, click on the 'Browser Icon' to preview the page before you even save it, just so you know its how it should appear. And as already mentioed. Upload the saved .html file AND the images folder that was generated to your remote host server. hope they help cheers heathrowe |
