How do you cut an image out?

I want to cut a car out from the background so that I can use it in a flash design. I opened the file and erased the background. Not really sure where to go from there. I want to take the car and save just it.The outline of it and everything. hope this makes since.

You will want to make the car without the background the only layer so that you see a transparent background.

Save it as a .png - which allows you transparency and also keeps the integrity of the image.
